Even FBI is Outraged over US torture of Prisoners :

The Interrogators were encouraged to get as close to the torture statute line as possible - One of top defense officials. The prisoners in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay were actually tortured by the express permission of defense department duly approved as "torture policy" by Condolezza Rice, ignoring the concerns of the then attorney general.

The Justice department has released a 370 page Report on the torturing with testimonies of FBI officials outraged over the treatment of prisoners. Even women soldiers were encouraged to follow the torture methods which one wouldn't imagine a woman could do.
